Hi! I'm Simon Gwinner, an Interaction/UX Designer currently working with Designit in Munich, Germany. I'm always up for exciting adventures: Let's work, play & dream together!

A selection of projects, I've been involved in.

A speculative approach of a dream device

Speculative Design / BA Final Project

Luce is a dream collector that embodies your dreams in a simple yet mysterious way. Luce opens new dialogues with our dreams and carries them even further, without forgetting the beauty we already experience – to dream itself.

Language learning through conversation

Conversational User Interface

Conversational User Interfaces (CUI) had a huge impact on the UX fields in 2016. During a mobile interface course, we had the task to build a meaningful conversational service with a focus on atomic applications and micro-interactions.

Dialogue around perception begins and ends with YOU

Service Design / Conversational User Interface

YOU imparts certified informations and experiences around contraception through a mobile dialogue. YOU is a concept for a service that includes four fictitious contraception professionals which fit their dialogue to the language and personal needs of young women.

The aesthetics of the accident

Critical Design

“Always keep your hands on the wheel. Be prepared to take over at any time.” says Tesla in its public beta phase for autonomous driving on puplic highways. An investigation into trust, emerging technology and what risks exist when promise is taking over the trust we put into those systems.

The aesthetics of the accident

Breathing soft architecture

Material Research

In this project we had the opportunity to explore the application of smart materials and their ability to transform space into responsive, adaptive products and environments. The outcome is an interactive installation showcasing possible applications of soft actuators in an architectural context.

A personal energy harvesting tamagotchi

Physical Computing

Ivy is a creature from a planet called Enerharv. As a friend of Ivy, you're responsible that this small creature is fed with enough energy in order to survive. Ivy should draw attention to our general energy consumption and the energy sources we are using. The goal is to sensitize someone on the various energy sources in a very playful manner.

Shopping-related navigation aid for visually impaired people

Inclusive Design / Mobile User Interface

Tracey is a concept for a shopping navigation aid for blind and visually impaired people, with the help of iBeacons and RFID technology as well as an app, designed specially for visually impared people.

Interactive light creatures from outer space

Spatial Interaction

SKUMS are weightless luminous creatures from stranger worlds. They move and breath organically, glow in the dark and seem to float in the air. They seek the attention of the opponent, inflate and deflate, spread out, and change their form through light.

Spatial exploration of perception and communication

Spatial Interaction

BOKS is an interactive installation which researches the perception and communication between people in two staged rooms. The same-looking rooms in different sizes are the experimental area, where two or more people, can move around and communicate with eachother.

Gender Study Contrast

Interactive Data Visualisation

The proportion of Women and Man still differentiates in a lot of areas of life. This divergence is also strongly visible in the elected majors of education. Gender-Study-Contrast visualizes this ratio between studying women and man in the canton of Zurich over the last decade.
